What we do
Events
Mini - Marts are held in the Hall and church grounds on the 4th Saturday of the month February to September (but because Easter 2011 falls on the 4th weekend, in April the mini-mart will be on the fifth Saturday, 30th April)
Annual fete is held on the second Saturday in November
Quiz Night will be held in late October
Shrove Tuesday Pancake night sometime in February or March depending on the date of Easter. See notices for details from late January each year
St Francis Day Blessing of the Pets service we don't coincide accurately with St Francis Day. See notices from late August each year for details
Teddy Bears Picnic and blessing of Teddy Bears usually held in September or October. See notices from early September
St Hilda's Day we have our patronal festival on the Sunday following St Hilda's Day (17th November). This involves a parish dinner and a special service. In 2010 the congregation of St Patrick's Mt Lawley joined us, and we joined them for St Patrick's Day. We plan to continue this in future years.
Special ministries
Ministry with the elderly in local nursing homes visit our Seniors page
Faith formation and spiritual direction We are developing new ministries. Visit our Spiritual Things page
Social Justice issues Individuals in the parish are involved in social justice advocacy. We would like to develop further ministry in this area
Mission, disaster relief, community development We are keen supporters of the Australian Board of Mission (ABM), TEAR Fund and regularly hold special collections for disaster relief
Who does what
There are lots of people who are involved in our church. Some get involved in organisational matters, others run stalls at our monthly Mini - Marts (4th Saturday from February - October, omitting April in 2011 because of a clash with Easter, others are involved in ministry and social justice issues. Our list of Who does what can be downloaded here.
We are looking for people to develop new ministries - where could your deep desires meet one of the world's needs?
