Children's Church

During school term time, Children's Church runs at the same time as the 9.45am service on Sundays. After the first hymn and the greeting there is a short talk for the children before they go out to the hall for Sunday Club, a lesson and activity session. From December 2010 we will be using Seasons of the Spirit which is based on the same set of readings as adults follow in church. Children come back into the service for Communion. There is a children's corner with toys and activities in the north-west corner of the church which is well used on Sundays.

During school holidays, the children's talk continues but children have activities in the children's corner

There is a keen group of parents who run children's activities through the year on Sunday mornings.

Children take part in an annual Christmas play on the Saturday before Christmas and there is a Children's Christmas Service at 5.30pm on Christmas Eve.

Every Sunday at Sunday Club children collect money for a special project - before Easter it was for for the Roleystone fires. Last school term it was to buy a goat for a needy family through TEAR Australia. They have also made and sent handmade cards to a child in Princess Margaret Hospital as one of their Sunday Club activities. This term they are collecting for an Aboriginal Children's literacy project

There was a highly successful special all ages service on Sunday 19th February, 9.45am,  for the blessing of backpacks for students (and teachers) newly back at school.

We are planning more all age services including for the evening of Saturday 7th April as a celebration of Easter, and to celebrate grandparents and grandchildren in June
